First, check the expiry date on the packet. Then tear the packet open carefully with your fingers, not your teeth, so you don't rip the condom. Before you put it on, check which way it unrolls. The rolled rim should be on the outside. If you try to unroll it and it won't go, it's inside out. Don't flip it over and use it, get a new one.

Pinch the tip of the condom to squeeze out the air (this leaves room for semen), place it on the head of the erect penis, and roll it all the way down to the base. It should unroll smoothly. If it doesn't, the condom might be the wrong size.

After sex, hold the base of the condom while pulling out, so it doesn't slip off. Take it off, tie a knot in it, wrap it in tissue, and bin it. Don't flush it.
