What is the average height for a teenage boy:girl?

Puberty

The average height for teenagers in the UK depends on age, since you're growing throughout your teens.

For girls, the average is around 155cm (5'1") at 13, reaching about 165cm (5'5") by 18. Most girls do most of their growing between 10 and 14, so by 15 or 16 you're usually close to your adult height.

For boys, the average is around 156cm (5'1.5") at 13, reaching about 175cm (5'9") by 18. Boys tend to have their later than girls, usually between 12 and 16, and some keep growing into their late teens or even early twenties.

These are averages though. There's a huge range of normal. Your height is mostly determined by genetics, so looking at how tall your parents are gives you a rough idea of where you'll end up.

If you feel like you're shorter or taller than everyone around you, that's often just a timing thing. People grow at different speeds, and someone who's short at 13 might end up taller than their friends by 17. doesn't happen on the same schedule for everyone.
